Why this book?

In this compelling story, you step into the middle of a change process - with all the challenges involved. The crucial role of the management team becomes tangible and invites you to reflect on the cooperation and division of roles within your own team. In this way, learning becomes not a lesson, but an experience.

Programme and practical information

We offer you an inspiring programme around this book launch. Of course, Jeroen Stoter himself will take the stage and treat you to the most important lessons from over twenty years of change management.

IT manager Hans Koppelaar of Evides will share an instructive practical case and there will be an outside in view by a speaker from the world of cycling.

After this inspiring masterclass and a brief insight into Making Heading, you will receive the book and be able to have it signed. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network and meet around a snack and drink.

About the book

Organisations need to move faster and faster, but the crucial role MTs have in this often remains underexposed. In the corporate peloton, many management teams ride like individual cyclists. They pedal hard, but lack the power of true cooperation. Koers maken is a refreshing management novel about organisational change and leadership. Using a recognisable story, you will discover how better cooperation and clear leadership lead to lasting change.

Change manager Luc Berg faces the ultimate challenge: saving a faltering company from collapse. When Luc gets help from Elise Vermeer, director of a professional cycling team, a powerful collaboration emerges. Together, they translate principles from top-level sport into business, but not everyone is eager for change... Will they succeed in transforming the MT and saving the company?

'It's a team-effort,' says Elise, coming up beside me. Her gaze follows the group, which is just executing another head turn. 'You have to use each other's strength and dose cleverly. If you keep dragging in the lead for too long, you blow up not only yourself, but the whole team.'

About the author

Jeroen Stoter has over 20 years' experience as a change manager. In his successful first management book, DNA of Agile Management Teams, he shows how MTs play a crucial role in healthy, agile organisations.

The book is seen as the missing puzzle piece for successful transformations. Among other things, the publication led to a collaboration with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). This is the world's leading framework for scaled Agile working. Making course is Jeroen's second book.
