Today, 25th August is a big day for the millions of SAFe certified professionals around the globe. Scaled Agile have launched a free upgrade to AI Native SAFe. Furthermore, the Implementation Roadmap catches up with the ‘Big Picture’ Scaled Agile has been building in public since June.
Over 9,000 people registered for the AI-Native SAFe Virtual Event series unveiling it every two weeks since, with 93% of attendees rating the sentiment positive, 95% calling the content relevant, and 93% saying it was worth their time. Numbers like that show demand and interest from many organisations around the globe.
Simply put, if you’re SAFe certified at any level, the upgrade path to AI-Native SAFe opens today. Free of charge, the first step is a one-hour “AI-Native Ready” primer, followed by a 90-minute AI-Native SAFe overview and a knowledge check. SPCs and ASPCs get an additional 30-minute “Adopting AI-Native SAFe” module on top.
None of it costs anything beyond your time and it takes just an afternoon.
You don’t have to take our word for any of this. Scaled Agile has had an Early Access version of the AI-Native SAFe Big Picture live since June, evolving every two weeks as the webinar series has progressed. Head to framework.scaledagile.com and toggle between Core SAFe and AI-Native SAFe on the Big Picture to see exactly what’s different, side by side.
Until today, AI-Native SAFe sat alongside core SAFe as a separate decision – something you evaluated, piloted, and bolted on once the “real” transformation was already underway. From today, that fork closes. The Implementation Roadmap and the Big Picture become one artefact, not two.
If you’re running a SAFe adoption, you’re no longer choosing whether to “do AI-Native SAFe” as a parallel initiative. It’s woven into the same roadmap you already use to train change agents, launch ARTs, and scale the portfolio.
The outcome-first thread running through it isn’t coming from nowhere, either. Scaled Agile built the outcome-driven model directly on Mik Kersten’s Outcome Loop – the concept at the centre of his new book,
Output to Outcome – and PI Objectives becoming PI Outcomes is that thinking showing up in the roadmap itself: measure whether the output moved the outcome, not just whether it shipped.
We’ll leave the detailed walkthrough of the new Big Picture to Scaled Agile’s own materials – see above. But three things are worth having on your radar as the Implementation Roadmap lands:
At Connected Movement, we’ve watched enough “AI transformation” initiatives run as a separate workstream from the actual company operating model to know that’s usually where they stall.
Folding AI-Native directly into the Implementation Roadmap is the right move – it forces the conversation to happen where the operating model decisions actually get made, not as part of a bolt-on conversation.
As a Scaled Agile Platinum and AI-Native training partner, Connected Movement is working closely with SAI and our clients to put AI-augmented operating models into practice, not just on paper.
If you’re weighing what this means for your value streams and ARTs, let’s talk.
