Obeya Host

Facilitate the conversations that connect strategy, delivery and continuous improvement.

Obeya Host

Many organisations invest in dashboards, reporting structures and meeting frameworks, yet find that these don’t automatically lead to better collaboration or better results. The information is there, but the conversations needed to turn insight into action are often missing.

Obeya helps organisations connect strategy, delivery and continuous improvement. Yet the success of an Obeya depends on more than just the room layout or the quality of the visuals. Equally important is how people work together and make decisions.

That is where the role of the Obeya Host comes in. The Host ensures the right conversations take place, keeps participants engaged and creates a space where shared ownership can develop.

In this training, you will learn how to prepare, facilitate and develop Obeya sessions in line with the principles of the Obeya Association. You will learn how to support teams and leaders in creating alignment, solving problems and achieving organisational goals.

Who is this training for?

This training is designed for professionals who play an active role in guiding collaboration, alignment and decision-making within teams, programmes and organisations.

You will get the most from this training if you work as a manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Lean professional, consultant, programme manager, team coach or change practitioner and regularly facilitate groups or support organisations in improving performance and collaboration.

The training is particularly valuable for organisations looking to build greater ownership, transparency and alignment. You will learn how to use an Obeya as an environment where people learn together, solve problems and give direction to the execution of strategy.

Put simply: you want to do more than understand how an Obeya works — you want to learn how to facilitate successful Obeya sessions.

What will you learn during this training?

During the training, you will learn how to prepare, facilitate and guide Obeya sessions in a way that strengthens collaboration, alignment and decision-making. You will discover how to help participants use information effectively and take shared ownership of results.

You will also develop skills in facilitation, coaching, active listening, questioning and guiding group dynamics. You will learn how to create an environment where people can work together openly and keep learning.

Through practical exercises, you will work with real-world scenarios and practise guiding conversations that contribute to problem-solving, improvement and decision-making within an Obeya context.

After this training

After completing the training, you will understand how effective Obeya sessions are facilitated and how to support the interaction between teams, leaders and stakeholders. You will know how to guide conversations that contribute to alignment, ownership and continuous improvement.

You will also have developed practical skills in facilitation, coaching and group dynamics. You will be able to use an Obeya as an environment for collective learning, collaboration and decision-making, and know how to apply the principles of the Obeya Association in day-to-day practice.

You will also gain a deeper understanding of how the Obeya Host role contributes to the success of a broader Obeya approach and how you can help organisations better connect strategy and delivery.

You can also become part of the Connected Movement community, where professionals share experiences, insights and practical examples around Obeya, Agile, Lean, Portfolio Management and organisational development.
