SAFe Agile Software Engineering ASE
Learn how Agile teams apply modern software engineering practices in a SAFe environment. Build skills in Test-Driven Development, DevOps, continuous integration and built-in quality, and discover how engineering excellence contributes to faster and more reliable value delivery. Available as a hands-on, instructor-led training.
Content
Many organisations work with Agile, but find that speed alone is not enough. Technical debt grows, releases remain risky, and teams find that quality and flow come under pressure as delivery accelerates. Modern software development therefore requires solid engineering practices that are scalable, maintainable and reliable.
In this training, you explore how Agile teams apply engineering excellence in a SAFe environment. Topics include Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), pair programming, continuous integration, DevOps and built-in quality. You also discover how modern engineering practices contribute to better flow, higher quality and faster delivery.
Topics covered include refactoring, automated testing, CI/CD, Agile architecture, collaboration between developers and quality practices within Agile teams. You also explore how engineering teams can work together more effectively around continuous delivery and sustainable software development.
The training is highly practical and interactive. Through coding exercises, workshops and hands-on examples, you actively apply modern engineering techniques that can be used directly in your own development environment.
Who is this training for?
This training is designed for software professionals who want to strengthen their engineering practices in Agile and SAFe environments. You will get the most from this training if you:
- Are a Software Developer or Software Engineer
- Work within Agile teams or Agile Release Trains
- Want to learn more about TDD, BDD and DevOps
- Work on continuous integration or continuous delivery
- Want to improve quality and maintainability
- Want to create more flow in software development
- Want to achieve an internationally recognised SAFe certification
Or simply put: you want to make software development more professional, reliable and scalable within modern Agile organisations.
What will you learn during this training?
During the training, you actively work with modern engineering practices in a SAFe environment.
You practise topics including Test-Driven Development, automated testing, pair programming, refactoring, continuous integration and DevOps. You also discover how engineering practices help raise technical quality and improve flow within Agile teams.
You also explore how built-in quality, CI/CD and collaboration between developers contribute to reliable and sustainable software development. Topics such as Agile architecture, coding standards and team collaboration are covered in depth.
The training is highly practical and hands-on. Through coding exercises, workshops and practical examples, you gain concrete techniques and insights that can be applied directly in your own development environment.
After this training
After the training, you understand how modern engineering practices contribute to better software quality, flow and continuous value delivery in a SAFe environment.
You know how to apply techniques such as TDD, automated testing, CI/CD and refactoring to make software more reliable and maintainable. You also understand how engineering excellence helps teams deliver value faster and more sustainably.
You leave with practical techniques, a deeper understanding of modern software engineering and concrete tools to strengthen engineering practices within Agile teams and Agile Release Trains.
You can also become part of the Connected Movement community, where professionals share experiences, insights and practical cases on SAFe, DevOps, engineering and digital transformation.

20+ client reviews
Excellent practical depth on engineering excellence within SAFe. TDD and CI/CD in particular were immediately applicable. A strong combination of Agile engineering, DevOps and hands-on coding. Not superficial theory – genuinely practical. This training gave our team a much clearer understanding of how quality and flow come together in modern software development.
