Content
Many organisations want to deliver value faster, but find that architecture, teams and strategy are not sufficiently aligned. Technical decisions are made in silos, dependencies grow, and architects are looking for ways to provide direction without blocking innovation and flow.
This training covers how architects operate effectively within a SAFe environment. You’ll gain insight into topics such as Agile architecture, architectural runway, DevOps, release on demand, continuous delivery and collaboration within Agile Release Trains (ARTs). You’ll also explore how architecture helps align business goals, technology and value delivery.
Topics covered include systems architecture, solution architecture, Lean-Agile principles, intentional architecture, emergent design and architecture governance. You’ll also learn how architects support teams in technical alignment, decision-making and continuous improvement within complex organisations.
The training is highly practical and interactive. Through exercises, real-world examples and experiences from genuine SAFe environments, you’ll gain not just theory, but real insight into how architecture and Agile delivery work together in modern organisations.

This training is designed for architects and technical leaders working within Agile and SAFe environments. You’ll get the most out of this training if you:

What will you learn during this training?
During the training, you’ll learn how architects collaborate with teams, business stakeholders and leadership within a SAFe environment.
You’ll work on topics such as Agile architecture, architectural runway, intentional architecture, DevOps, release on demand and continuous delivery. You’ll also explore how architecture strengthens technical alignment and flow within Agile Release Trains.
You’ll also learn how architects support teams in technical decisions, managing dependencies and systems design without slowing down delivery. Topics such as governance, emergent design and collaboration between business and technology are covered in depth.
The training is highly practical and interactive. Through exercises, real-world examples and discussions, you’ll gain concrete techniques and insights that can be applied directly within your own organisational context.
After this training
After completing the training, you’ll understand how architects contribute to flow, alignment and value delivery within a SAFe environment.
You’ll know how to apply architecture to better connect strategy, technology and delivery. You’ll also understand how Agile architecture, DevOps and continuous delivery contribute to faster and more sustainable software development.
You’ll leave with practical techniques, a deeper understanding of architecture within Agile organisations and concrete tools to better support teams in technical alignment and collaboration.

About the exam
After completing the training – once your attendance has been confirmed – you have 60 days to sit the official SAFe Architect exam.
The online exam consists of multiple-choice questions and tests your knowledge of topics such as Agile architecture, DevOps, continuous delivery, architectural runway, Lean-Agile principles and collaboration within Agile Release Trains. The exam is in English.
Certification
On successfully passing the exam, you receive the internationally recognised SAFe Architect certificate from Scaled Agile.
You will also receive one year of access to the SAFe Community Platform, including additional content, tools and resources.

The training can be provided in Dutch, English, French and German upon request. The official course material and exam are in English. When you register for a start date in the open line, the language spoken during the training will be indicated.

The training lasts 3 days and is provided as an instructor-led course, either in a classroom or virtually.
Is the exam included?
Yes. One exam voucher for the official SAFe Architect exam is included with the training.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. On successfully passing the exam, you receive the internationally recognised SAFe Architect certificate from Scaled Agile.
