Many organisations have invested in Agile ways of working, yet still face challenges around strategy execution, prioritisation and portfolio management. Initiatives compete for resources, decision-making takes too long, and teams lose focus because strategy, funding and delivery are not sufficiently aligned.
In this training, you’ll learn how Lean Portfolio Management helps to better connect strategy, portfolios and execution within a SAFe environment. You’ll gain insight into topics such as portfolio flow, strategic themes, Lean budgeting, governance, investment funding and portfolio operations. You’ll also explore how organisations can respond more quickly to change while keeping teams focused and aligned.
Topics covered include portfolio kanban, epic management, decentralised decision-making, value streams and measuring business value. You’ll also learn how Lean governance and continuous portfolio adaptation contribute to better decision-making and stronger strategic execution.

You’ll discover how organisations can manage their portfolios more effectively without slowing teams down with heavy governance and complex decision-making.
You’ll also explore how Lean governance, portfolio flow and continuous prioritisation contribute to better focus, alignment and strategic execution. Topics such as business agility, investment funding and measuring business value are covered in depth.
The training is highly practical and interactive. Through exercises, real-world examples and discussions, you’ll gain concrete techniques and insights that can be applied directly within your own organisational context.
After this training
After completing the training, you’ll understand how Lean Portfolio Management helps organisations better connect strategy, investments and execution within a SAFe environment.
You’ll know how to improve portfolio flow, apply Lean budgeting and help organisations prioritise faster and more deliberately. You’ll also understand how governance, value streams and decentralised decision-making contribute to better alignment and greater Business Agility.
You’ll leave with practical techniques, deeper insight into strategic portfolio management and concrete tools to apply Lean Portfolio Management within modern organisations.
For private training programmes, an optional extra workshop day can be added, focused on implementing Lean Portfolio Management within your own organisational context. During this workshop, you’ll work together on topics such as portfolio flow, governance, portfolio kanban, strategic themes and the practical setup of LPM within the organisation.

About the exam
After the training, once your attendance has been confirmed, you have 60 days to sit the official SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) exam.
The online exam consists of multiple-choice questions and tests your knowledge of topics such as Lean Portfolio Management, Lean budgeting, portfolio flow, governance, epic management and strategic alignment. The exam is conducted in English.
Certification
Upon successfully passing the exam, you will receive the internationally recognised SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) certificate from Scaled Agile
You will also receive one year of access to the SAFe Community Platform, including additional content, tools and resources.

Is the exam included?
Yes. One exam voucher for the official SAFe Lean Portfolio Management exam is included with the training.
