Scrum Master Mastery Track

Practical skills for the moments between the ceremonies.

Scrum Master Mastery Track

Most Scrum Masters know the framework, and many are certified. What is hard is everything between the ceremonies: unclear roles, metrics used as a stick, team members who expect answers, and disagreements that turn personal.

The Scrum Master Mastery Track is a place to practise being a Scrum Master. Short inputs, realistic scenarios and role play. Then you try it in your own team and bring back what happened.

It is no framework course and there is no exam. What counts is what you do differently next week. Taking part gives you access to the Connected community.

Who is this training for?

For practising Scrum Masters with team experience who want to grow in the role:

  • Scrum Masters, also in ARTs and multi-team settings
  • team coaches and agile coaches who work with teams

You know the basics of Scrum and agile and have worked with a team in practice. It is not an introduction to Scrum and not a certification course. Are you an RTE? Then the RTE Mastery Track fits better.

What do you do during the training?

The track is built from half-day modules, spaced a few weeks apart. Each module follows the same rhythm: learn, apply, reflect. A short input, then scenarios, small-group exercises and role play, with structured debriefs and peer feedback.

The four core modules

  1. Alignment with managers and RTEs: role clarity, expectations, boundaries and accountability
  2. Metrics that help, not hurt: reading flow and delivery metrics, side effects and responsible use
  3. Asking powerful questions: listening, questioning and coaching, from giving advice to enabling others
  4. Conflict and collaboration: diagnosing conflict and keeping disagreement productive, including the Conflict Lab role play

Each module ends with a small experiment in your own team. One to two weeks later, an AMA session gives room to discuss what you tried. More modules are in development, such as facilitation and systems thinking.

Open enrolment: the four core modules in a fixed route, with Scrum Masters from other organisations.

In-house: you choose at least four modules, and we build the scenarios around your own organisation.

After this training

You can:

  • make role boundaries with managers and RTEs explicit
  • use metrics to support learning instead of judgement
  • ask coaching questions instead of jumping to advice
  • diagnose conflict and choose a fitting intervention
  • decide when to observe, coach, facilitate, step in or escalate

You leave with practical tools (role and responsibility map, coaching prompts, the Conflict Radar, the Intervention Ladder and the Conflict Playbook: Spot, Diagnose, Choose, Act, Watch), your own experiments, and access to the Connected community.

About the exam

There is no exam. The focus is on what you do differently in your team.

Certification

Frequently asked questions

How is the track structured?

Half-day modules spaced a few weeks apart. Each module ends with an experiment in your own team, followed one to two weeks later by an AMA session.

What is the difference between open enrolment and in-house?

In the open group you follow the four core modules with Scrum Masters from other organisations. In-house you choose at least four modules and the scenarios come from your own organisation.

I already have a CSM or PSM. Is this for me?

Yes. The track builds on what you know and focuses on the situations that certification courses do not practise.

How much time does it take?

Half a day per module, plus a small experiment in your own team between modules. No substantial pre-work.

Can it be online?

Yes. The modules work in a classroom and online. A classroom works best for the role plays.

How large is the group?

At least 6 and at most 16 participants, ideally 8 to 12, so everyone gets to practise.

What does access to the Connected community include?

Knowledge exchange with peers from other organisations, talks, webinars and round tables.
